This week is #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek, an initiative started by @mentalhealthfoundation to bring attention to and understand a multitude of mental health conditions and how to offer help to both ourselves and others when going through tough times.

Exercise can be a powerful tool for improving your mental health and combating loneliness, and there are a number of different ways fitness can boost endorphins and enhance your overall well-being.

Make sure to practise self-care and listen to your individual body – while exercise can be an amazing tool for boosting mental wellbeing, it’s important not to overdo it and put your body into a state of stress. Rest and recovery is just as crucial as the workout itself.

Remember to set realistic goals, and don’t hesitate to take a rest day when needed
